People + Science + Outdoors

Warner College Council students attend the Fall 2017 college picnic.

Meet Rachel Baiyor. She’s a senior majoring in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability and president of the College Council at Warner College of Natural Resources.

Rachel is from Illinois, had mountain dreams, and knew she wanted to study science. She’d never been to Colorado, but when she found out “Warner even existed!” she found her fit. She has been able to combine her love of the outdoors with an education and career path that will enable her to use science to reach people.

“My favorite part about being a Warner Ram, by far, is the tight knit community,” she says. “Every human I meet in the Warner College is an incredible human.”

She invites current Warner students to check out College Council to experience the sense of community and to have a hand in what’s happening at the College. Meetings are Wednesdays at 5 p.m. in Forestry 127.
