It comes as no surprise that many Rams thrive on being creative and spending their time enjoying and recreating in nature. However this truth is often overlooked in university settings such as the classroom. The Department of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources has created an opportunity to celebrate Ram’s love of the outdoors and reward the best video submissions with a $1000 prize!
CSU students are eligible to win $1,000 this school year by creating their own short, nature-related videos and sharing them on the Student Nature Vids website. Video submissions should align with one of these three categories:
- Adventure
- Natural Wonder
- Humor
Students can work individually or as a group to share as many original nature videos as they want on the website from now until January 31, 2023. Videos can contain either edited or raw footage, but each submission must be under 3 minutes in length and under 2GB. Additional submission guidelines and judging criteria can be found on the website.
In April 2023, after a selection process with neutral judges, a viewing event will be held to showcase the top submissions from students and to announce a grand prize winner of $1,000 for each category (three different grand prize winners total).
